As we mentioned in the introduction, the great advantage of coffee on the hair is that it makes it more beautiful and healthier at the same time. This, of course, provided you use a properly made coffee, i.e. one that contains all the nutrients that characterise it: hence the fundamental importance of preparing it with the right tools.

Softer and shinier hair
Among the already mentioned nutrients contained in coffee, it is worth mentioning flavonoids, i.e. antioxidants that help regenerate and strengthen your hair. This is especially true if you have dry hair, as these substances can soften it and make it shinier, ensuring the right level of moisture and promoting a healthy scalp.
Remedy against dandruff
The coffee scrub is an extremely effective natural remedy for purifying the scalp and combating annoying dandruff. Thanks to its exfoliating and antibacterial properties, this treatment helps to remove dead cells, rebalance the scalp and stimulate circulation.
The blend of coffee with coconut oil creates a nourishing paste that gently smoothes the skin surface, reducing sebum build-up and impurities.
Always remember to massage deeply while applying the mixture to encourage reactivation of the hair follicles, giving your hair shine and vitality.
Lower risk of falling
Have you started noticing unsightly hollow areas on your head? Using coffee regularly on your hair could help you stop the problem. Caffeine in fact promotes vascularisation of the scalp, thus acting on the hair follicles as a natural anti-fall remedy and, at the same time, strengthening existing hair and promoting regrowth of lost hair.
Remedy against grey hair
If you are dark-haired, coffee can help you regain your natural dark colour, acting as a real hair dye! Coffee washes are in fact an excellent home remedy against grey hair, restoring its original colour and making you feel younger and more vital.
So, as you should have realised by now, coffee on the hair is a quick, cheap and effective solution to restore lost vigour, stimulating hair regrowth and making it shinier and brighter. And getting all these benefits is really easy, as all you need to do is prepare a simple coffee mask.
How to use coffee on hair
Now that we have clarified in detail what the benefits of coffee on hair are, let’s find out together the best ways to apply it, depending on the problem you want to solve.
If, for example, you do not have a specific one, but only aim to strengthen and invigorate your hair, then you should mix coffee with a little Argan oil in the following proportions:
- 1 cup of espresso coffee;
- 1 tablespoon Argan oil;
- 1 tablespoon low-fat yoghurt.
Mix the ingredients in a bowl until a perfectly homogeneous mixture is obtained. Apply to the hair evenly, massaging the skin gently. Then cover your head with a cap and leave the mask on for 40 minutes.
If you suffer from dandruff, on the other hand, you can use a recipe very similar to the previous one, but replacing the tablespoon of argan oil with one of coconut oil. In this case, however, the mask should be applied to wet hair and left on for only a few minutes.
Mixing Argan oil with avocado oil (1 tablespoon each) makes an excellent natural hair brightener. Just let the mask sit for ten minutes or so, after which your hair will be brighter and more radiant than ever!
As we have already explained, however, another great advantage of coffee on the hair is its ability to act on the colour: whether it is to restore the natural colour of the hair or if you want to cover the first grey hair. In the first case you will need 3 cups of coffee made with a moka coffee maker (or one of our lever machines!): to revitalise your natural dark colour, you simply pour the coffee on your head, distribute it evenly and leave it on for 5 – 10 minutes. After an initial rinse with water, our advice is to do a second rinse with white vinegar to fix the colour permanently.
If you want to cover white hair, on the other hand, you will need 3 – 4 cups of coffee, together with a coffee grounds and 1 – 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix all the ingredients together until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. The procedure is always the same: apply the mask to wet hair and leave it on for 10 – 15 minutes, then rinse with plenty of water.
Finally, by mixing 2 – 3 coffee grounds with a cup of green tea and a tablespoon of honey, you can obtain an excellent mask that will considerably strengthen your hair and leave it on for 10 minutes.
How the active ingredients of coffee act on the hair
Let’s go into a little more detail! If you are curious or curious about how coffee actually helps our hair to regain its shine or improve its general condition, you will find everything you are looking for in the following lines.
Caffeine, first of all, acts at the cellular level by directly stimulating hair follicles through a biostimulation mechanism. By penetrating the hair root, it blocks the action of growth-stopping hormones such as DHT (dihydrotestosterone), prolonging the anagen phase of the growth cycle. This process significantly slows down hair loss and stimulates the production of new follicles.
Flavonoids, powerful antioxidants found in coffee, play a crucial role in protecting cells from oxidative damage. They neutralise free radicals that weaken the hair structure, preserving the integrity of keratin proteins and maintaining the hair’s elasticity. At the same time, fatty acids and micronutrients such as copper, magnesium and B vitamins nourish the hair structure in depth, strengthening it and giving shine.
The biological effect is completed with the stimulation of microcirculation: caffeine dilates the blood vessels of the scalp, improving oxygenation and the supply of nutrients to the roots. This natural process not only counteracts hair loss, but promotes more robust and lush growth, rebalancing the physiological conditions of the entire hair system.
Conclusion
Coffee on the hair, as you have seen for yourself, is an excellent remedy to solve many problems or, more simply, to strengthen and invigorate the scalp. And the advantage is that preparing it is really very easy, as all you need is one of our lever machines.
Precisely because it is so important that the coffee on your hair is rich in all its nutrients, our lever machines can ensure you a drink that fully reflects this requirement, thus guaranteeing you a truly effective remedy that will restore your hair’s natural beauty.
