Loss of smell and taste <\/strong>is one of the most frequent symptoms found in patients with Sars-Cov-2. Therefore, some researchers have suggested doing a very special home test<\/strong>: the test for Covid 19 with the aroma of coffee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smell disorders are one of the most common characteristics of colds, flu, and parainfluenza dis-eases. Generally, they are linked to an alteration in transmission, a perceptual disturbance of a neural nature, or a conduction defect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many patients who tested positive for Covid-19 reported that they aren’t able to smell and taste, even without the presence of nasal obstruction. From some research carried out by the Humanitas Clinical Institute of Rozzano<\/em> (MI<\/em>), about 42% of the positives showed a reduction or loss of smell, and 55% also of taste<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The altered ability to smell<\/strong>, generally, occurs in the intermediate stage of the disease, especially in people suffering from a moderate form of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a further study conducted at the University of Padua and Trieste, the AULSS2 of Treviso, <\/em>the Aviano Oncology Reference Center, <\/em>and King’s College London<\/em>, half of the patients recover the correct sensitivity, while the others regain their sense of smell more slowly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These symptoms were found especially in women. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The emerged data, therefore, suggest that olfactory perceptions are closely related to<\/strong> Coronavirus<\/strong> infection<\/strong>. In general, this symptom is accompanied by dryness of the nasal mucous membranes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
